There's an article in gazeta.ru titled "Beslan's grim secret". Here are the latest numbers:
Officially, the number of dead is 326, but, as of today morning, only 75 death certificates have been given out, 84 bodies are still unidentified, and 94 are considered missing. According to the unofficial list, compiled by the residents of Beslan, the number of missing is 150.
ok, question: How are these people missing? It's not like they walked out of the school and went running off with the other two terrorists, so how do they know these are missing? Or is is because they can't be identified?

I had the same question, but the article is not clear on this. 84 bodies are unidentified, but the unofficial count of persons unidentified is 150... fuzzy math? Or? I'll keep on top of this.

I'm assuming that there were many body parts, as opposed to bodies, that have yet to be indentified. That would probably account for those labeled missing.

I remember I did a Google search last weekend on articles re people still accounted "missing." I think the figure quoted then was around 150 too, so it seems few if any people were found this week. I couldn't find anything satisfactory and figured questions would be answered sometime this week.
I'm sorry that's not the case.
The body parts idea has some merit. It's also quite possible that after they got their kids back, some families just fled to a distant relative without telling anyone.
Stan, thanks for all your time and effort on this sad, sad story.
