According to Vesti (via N.G.), beginning this month Belorus will lower the price of the tourist visa for the citizens of U.S. from $100 to $50. Last year only 5,500 Americans visited Belorus. The reason for such a low number, according to Uri Sivakov, the head of Belarus' Ministry of Sport and Tourism, is the high cost of the tourist visa.
Hm. I highly doubt that the $50 difference was the deal breaker.
True. $50 isn't the deal breaker. May have something to do with people not knowing much about the country and of course the dictator they have for a president, but...what do *I* know. I am the one who doesn't want to go back :)

Dude. You should definately go back and check it out. By the way, that $50 would probably buy you 2 gallons of vodka there. Heh. Not even kidding.
