Hmm...

My boss resigned, so I've been pretty busy as of late, hence the lack of posts. I moved into his office (with a window!) which I have to share with another person, and what do I find in his (now mine) drawers? A plastic cup full of pennies and two packets of non-expired Advil. Was he trying to tell me something?

Hillary finds G-d

Invoking Biblical themes, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton joined immigration advocates Wednesday to vow and block legislation seeking to criminalize undocumented immigrants.

Heh... Undocumented? Gotta love the media's play on words. What's next? Escape from a prison - undocumented early release?

Why not decriminalize undocumented drivers?

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke says he turned down the chance to discuss climate change with Tony Blair because the British prime minister has "no environmental credentials."

The charity Friends of the Earth, for which the singer is an ambassador, asked him to meet Blair.

But Yorke said Blair had no record of championing the environment and added that dealing with the governing Labour Party's "spin doctors" made him feel ill.

And what exactly are Yorke's credentials? This guy played at the Free Tibet concert in 1999, and last time I checked Tibet is still ain't free... Thom Yorke, the pacifist, also talked about punching in the face those with whom he doesn't agree.

MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - Russian Communist party leader Gennady Zyuganov has blamed the United States for the spread of avian influenza, or bird flu, in a number of European countries, including Russia.

"The forms of warfare are changing. It's strange that not a single duck has yet died in America - they are all dying in Russia and European countries. This makes one seriously wonder why," Zyuganov said at a press conference at the Interfax main office on Tuesday.

Zyuganov said that he has good knowledge of war gases as he dealt with them during his army service.

"I tested all kinds of war gases at a range myself," he said.

Looks like this guy tested too many.

Sennheiser CX300

Those who have been following my PC/gadget woes remember the SONY headphone fiasco I went through in January. Anyway, several grey hairs and paronychiums later, I finally* got around to getting new headphones - the Sennheiser CX300. And, yea, I got the black pair to match my mood, but that's a whole different story. Anyway, these babies sound as good, if not better, then the Sony's. There's a bit more treble, I think, but this could be due to the equalizer setting on my COWON A2. I only had these for a few days, but so far they have proved themselves as quite capable. The bass on these is more subdued then on SONY's, but seems to be crisper. Another big plus with these is that no KY jelly is required to get them in your ears. The Sony's required a hammer to get all the way in my ears (otherwise all you get is treble and no bass) - and that's with the smallest earbud tips! CX300's, on the other hand, fit just fine with the smallest and even the medium earbud tips.

Ironically, I am getting yet another pair of Sony earbuds with my new phone. Ugh! It's a vicious circle jerk :(

Panasonic 50" plasma (TH-50PX500U)

Just spent 2 hours installing a Panasonic 50" plasma display for my parents. I got quite a hefty employee discount on it, but even at a regular price that thing is worth every penny. The image on the high definition channels is (slightly) better then what my projector displays. Hmm. I am falling behind :(

The TH-50PX500U model is the swiss knife of the Panasonic plasma line - it got a SD card reader*, PC card slot, CableCard slot, decent speakers, picture in picture, and is PC ready.

Meanwhile, I am drooling over this. That native resolution is *sick*.

* Panasonic is pushing their (co developed with Toshiba) Secure Digital memory with this. Their Lumix digital camera line uses SD exclusively.
