Yet another excuse for terror...

The first Muslim to be crowned Miss England has warned that stereotyping members of her community is leading some towards extremism.

Hammasa Kohistani made history last year when she was chosen to represent England in the Miss World pageant.

But one year on, the 19-year-old student from Hounslow feels that winning the coveted beauty title last September was a "sugar coating" for Muslims who have become more alienated in the past 12 months.

She said: "The attitude towards Muslims has got worse over the year. Also the Muslims' attitude to British people has got worse.

What a sorry excuse! How about the attitude and the bombs towards the non-Muslims by the members of her community? Another year of "stereotyping" and she is she going to don a burka, I guess...

This is the dramatic moment when President George Bush is gunned down by a sniper after a public address at a hotel, in a gripping new docudrama soon to be aired on TV.

Set around October 2007, President Bush is assassinated as he leaves the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago.

Death of a President, shot in the style of a retrospective documentary, looks at the effect the assassination of Bush has on America in light of its 'War on Terror'.

The 90 minutes feature explores who could have planned the murder, with a Syrian-born man wrongly put in the frame.

Peter Dale, head of More4, which is due to air the film on October 9, said the drama was a "thought-provoking critique" of contemporary US society.

A "thought-provoking critique" from the continent that brought us two world wars and the holocaust? Critique away, lads.

Police arrested an East Williamsburg man who attacked his neighbor after getting drunk, authorities said.

Arturo Pea, 34, had several beers with Lazaro Ramirez early Sunday in their Grand Street building. While they were drinking, Pea revealed his frustrations about his ex-wife remarrying and how he felt the need to go out and start a fight, police said.

Ramirez said he wasn't interested in joining his friend, which further enraged Pea, the sources said.

Pea then broke a beer bottle and slashed the victim's chin and chest, they said. Police arrested Pea in his home at about 4:40 a.m.

Ramirez was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Public records reveal that as Gore lectures Americans on excessive consumption, he and his wife Tipper live in two properties: a 10,000-square-foot, 20-room, eight-bathroom home in Nashville, and a 4,000-square-foot home in Arlington, Va. (He also has a third home in Carthage, Tenn.) For someone rallying the planet to pursue a path of extreme personal sacrifice, Gore requires little from himself.

Then there is the troubling matter of his energy use. In the Washington, D.C., area, utility companies offer wind energy as an alternative to traditional energy. In Nashville, similar programs exist. Utility customers must simply pay a few extra pennies per kilowatt hour, and they can continue living their carbon-neutral lifestyles knowing that they are supporting wind energy. Plenty of businesses and institutions have signed up. Even the Bush administration is using green energy for some federal office buildings, as are thousands of area residents.

But according to public records, there is no evidence that Gore has signed up to use green energy in either of his large residences. When contacted Wednesday, Gore's office confirmed as much but said the Gores were looking into making the switch at both homes. Talk about inconvenient truths.

But hey, at least he means well, right?

New case

All kinds of weirdness has been going on with my PC in the last 2 months. Lock ups, CMOS problems, issues with the master hard drive not being recognized, etc. I am pretty sure it has to do with my motherboard/case short circuiting as my case is pretty cramped and is old. I bought it in 2002, and back then I thought it was cutting edge, because it had a vent on the side panel. I am on my third cpu/motherboard/video upgrade since then and am running a respectable rig (I'ld like to think so anyway - AMD x2 4200+, 2 gig ram, 7800GT video) now, so I think its time to upgrade the case.

So out came the credit card, and more of my money went to newegg. Antec p180 is my new baby. This case got good feedback from the much esteemed Tom's Hardware, so I knew I couldn't loose on this one.

Check out the layout. Note how the power supply is all the way on the bottom so its heat doesn't affect the motherboard. Nice!

When I used to read about the 1930s — the Italian invasion of Abyssinia, the rise of fascism in Italy, Spain, and Germany, the appeasement in France and Britain, the murderous duplicity of the Soviet Union, and the racist Japanese murdering in China — I never could quite figure out why, during those bleak years, Western Europeans and those in the United States did not speak out and condemn the growing madness, if only to defend the millennia-long promise of Western liberalism.
