Europe goes down the drain

These are interesting days we are living in when a sober analysis of the Hamas vs. Fatah situation comes from the arab media and not from an American ex president.

And speaking of interesting days, Ali Mazrui notes, that during the first Rushdie affair, "the twelve members of the European Community temporarily withdrew their ambassadors from Tehran in the wake of the Ayatollah’s threat against Rushdie." Ofcourse no such reaction can be seen today. Further proof that Europe has no spine and no will. All these loud statements by the european leaders and organizations against US and Israel are nothing more then a way for them to assure the european populace that they are, and not the cowboy hillbilies, are the enlightened ones. The reality, ofcourse is far from that. Europeans, in all their sophistication, allowed for 2 World Wars and a Holocaust to happen. Even to this day, not only can one not rely on them to lift a finger to prevent another genocide, but one can be assured that they will be on the side of the perpetrators.

Boo hoo

"I feel bad because I would have gotten in if I was white," Nikita Rau lamented over her failed bid to attend the Mark Twain School, IS 239, in Coney Island, a magnet school for gifted students.

It turns out Mark Twain - unlike all but one other city public school - admits students according to racial quotas established in 1974 by a federal judge who ordered the school's desegregation.

Under those quotas - which originally were intended to boost minority enrollment - 60 percent of Mark Twain's student body is set aside for white students, while 40 percent is set aside for minorities.

Well, boo frigging hoo. I applied to half a dozen high schools and wasn't accepted to a single one (ended up going to my zone school), while the "minority" kids from my class, who were barely passing their classes, got into the schools that rejected me. For some reason the unfairness of the racial quotas make news only when the minorities are negatively affected.

The racial quota that kept a young Indian-American girl out of an elite Brooklyn school apparently cuts both ways: An 11-year-old white boy failed to win admission to the school despite outscoring minorities on a science entry exam.

Bald .com sold

The head-scratching bald.com cost $400,000. Seniors.com sold for $1.8 million. And the biggest moneymaking moniker, creditcheck.com, reeled in $3 million. Meanwhile, naked.com, racism.com, gin.com and coed.com failed to reach their minimum prices.

Hair today, gone tomorrow! But seriously, should've had the foresight to get in on that domain buying action in the late 1990's.

Wannabe Jews

These guys hang out by the World Trade Center and I usually see them there about once a month. Today I got off work on time, so it was still fairly light out, so as I got off the PATH and was walking up the stairs I hear the guy preaching. LOUD! The microphone was probably unnecessary, but everything about these guys is over the top, so it was fitting, anyway.

So I pulled out the camera and snapped away as he railed on about the "so called white man".

Idiot of the week

A routine test drive turned into a frightening carjacking for a Manhattan salesman yesterday when his would-be buyer kicked him out of the vehicle and drove off, police said.

But the dim-witted customer was caught shortly after the brazen 11 a.m. ripoff when he returned to the showroom on 11th Ave., police said.

"He left a copy of his license at the dealer," said an investigator at the scene. "Not a smart guy."

Adhanom Hayet, 26, had been driving the maroon 2007 Nissan Murano around the West Side with the salesman when he suddenly shoved the dealer out of the SUV at 60th St. and Broadway.

Minutes later, Hayet showed up at the Potamkin showroom where he parked the SUV and walked away, but not before the salesman arrived in a police cruiser and pointed him out, cops said.

After a short foot chase involving some two dozen police, Hayet was tackled and arrested at 10th Ave. and 51st St., witnesses said.

Definately not too bright! But ofcourse he's not a criminal or anything, his mother has a theory

Carol Adhanom said her son, who has no prior arrests, came to New York to visit college friends. She said the incident was “out of character” for her son and suggested that something might have set him off.

“Maybe the salesman said something racially motivated,” she said. “Theres a lot missing from this puzzle.”

If the salesman was a racist wouldn't he not even let her bundle of joy take the test drive? Why this specific theory? Hey, I got a better one! How about - the salesman gave him the car as a gift and then changed his mind! Bastard! :(

Everybody is a victim...

The commission that runs the Minneapolis airports in May began enforcing a new policy allowing it to revoke the licenses of drivers who refuse to ferry passengers carrying alcohol -- something that has happened to 4,854 travelers trying to get a cab at Minneapolis International Airport in the last five years.

"The increased penalties appear to have brought drivers into compliance," airport spokesman Patrick Hogan said of the policy -- a 30-day license suspension for a first infraction and a two-year license revocation for a second.

Although Hogan said the measure was implemented without incident, it has provoked outrage among some of the 900 cab drivers who work the airport. About three quarters of them are Somali, most of whom are Muslim.

"A few of them are really, really upset about it," said Omar Jamal, executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center in neighboring St. Paul. "They believe they have been forced into something against their faith, something against their religion."

Forced?? Didn't they choose to work as taxi drivers?

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — The man accused of striking nine people when he drove a vehicle on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill last year has apologized in a letter sent to the court.

In the letter dated May 20 and sent to Orange County Superior Court, Mohammed Taheri-azar said he is “very sorry for the crimes which I committed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on March 3, 2006. I sincerely regret what I did on that day. Please release me from state custody so that I may pursue my goal of living a productive life in California.”

Taheri-Azar, 23, said he hopes to work for his father’s general contracting company in Anaheim, California, and “re-establish myself as a good, caring and productive member of society.”

In the letter, Taheri-Azar also apologizes for his actions March 5 of this year in the courtroom, when he said he hated all Americans and Jews and called his attorney a moron.

Yea, whatever, dude. Here are some previous articles from last year regarding this guy A man who admits that he intentionally plowed into nine people on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus last week told authorities he was disappointed that more people were not around when he carried out the attack.. And "Allah gives permission in the Koran for the followers of Allah to attack those who have raged war against them, with the expectation of eternal paradise in case of martyrdom," Mohammed Taheri-azar wrote in a two-page letter sent to a TV station in Durham.. Hmm. That would come as a shock to CAIR!
