Beslan II prevented?
Police in the Russian city of St Petersburg have found explosives, detonators and a gun in a cinema closed for repairs, Russian media have said.
The modus operandi here is very similar to the methods used in preparing for the hostage taking of the school in Beslan.
As I've translated earlier from gzt.ru:
The school siege was well planned. Terrorists brought explosives, weapons, and food (canned goods and chocolate) back in July, when school was going through renovations. According to hostages, within the first minutes of the siege, the terrorists made male hostages rip up the floor, from under which they extracted their contraband.
Several of the terrorists' bodies have now been identified as the "construction workers" who remodeled the school. Their intent explains the low price they've charged.
In both instances the weapons and explosived were planted while the buildings went through repairs/renovations.
Russian police arrested three men from Kazakhstan and claims that they are probably petty criminals and not terorrists, however the location (movie theater) and the type of weapons (Police found 23 cartridges, 900g of plastic explosives, a 200g stick of dynamite, two home-made bombs and a rifle.) would make any reasonable person question that.
UPDATE
gzt.ru
The three citizens of Kazakhstan (born in 1981, 1980 and 1982), who are held in connection with the found explosives, had four AK-47's (with serial numbers removed) and 7,62mm ammo in their posession when arrested.
