What does our president have to say about yesterday's terrorist attack?

The president made the comments as the commander of Fort Hood, the US’s largest base for deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, quoted witnesses as saying the suspected gunman, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, shouted the Muslim declaration “Allahu Akbar” – God is great – as he opened fire. Speaking at the White House, Mr Obama said: “We don’t know all the answers yet, and I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts.”

So a person of the muslim faith, who's known for prior anti-American statements, kills a dozen American soldiers while yelling "Allakh Akhbar", and we shouldn't jump to conclusions. Yet Obama didn't extend the same consideration to the Cambridge police back in July. Quite telling.

Malik Nadal Hasan - "good American"

Authorities have not identified the gunman publicly, but official sources have named Major Malik Nadal Hasan, a psychiatrist who reportedly didn't believe in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and wanted out of the military before he was set to be deployed overseas.

Federal law enforcement officials say Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats.

11 dead and 31 are wounded. Some would have you believe that poverty is the root cause of terrorism, but that's, obviously, just some cuddly politically correct bullshit that the left would have you believe. Malik Nadal Hasan is a doctor. Osama Bin Laden is from a wealthy family.  The 9/11 hijackers were college educated. The problem is the backward, medieval mentality which no amount of money or education seem to fix. The citizens of the West have sent tens of billions of dollars to feed, clothe, educate, and provide medicine and care for the poor Muslims world wide and none of it means anything to them. For as soon as there an accusation of a westerner mistreating the Koran, they go wild,  burn our flags, and kill. Ironically, the very group that's so sensitive about its beliefs, offers absolutely no consideration for the beliefs of others. Next time they burn our flag, perhaps we should send over a few rockets. And next time there's a beheading, perhaps we should go nuclear. I am sure they will understand, for they know what its like to be disrespected.

Nader Hasan, the shooter's cousin, stresses that Malik - the shooter - is a good American here.  His definition of that term is less than standard, I am sure.

Hamas' "victory"

Syrian President Bashar Assad congratulated Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal Saturday on his organization's "victory" in the Gaza Strip, Syrian news agency SANA reported.

If that's what arabs consider a victory, then I'ld hate to see what a defeat to them is. In any case, I wish them many more of such victories.

The culture of death

I've refrained from posting on the events in Gaza recently. Mostly because I feel that what's going on is obvious and speaks for itself. Unfortunately the reaction to Israel's defensive mission from most of the world is a fine display of how the two world wars were allowed to happen.  People just chose to stick their heads in the sand and talk in cliches without taking the reality into account.  You know, the whole diplomacy-must-be-given-a-chance shpiel from the peaceniks - never mind that it has been given quite a few chances over the course of decades and has failed. The european peaceniks will sing that song as long as the rockets are not falling on their heads. Anyway, I thought this article from the last week's New York Times encapsulates the Palestinian modus operandi quite well.

1. Hamas are firing from the civilian areas, Palestinian civilians get hurt:

He said Hamas militants next to his apartment building had fired mortar and rocket rounds. Israel fired back with force, and his apartment was hit. His wife, Albina, originally from Ukraine, and his 1-year-old son were killed.

2. Palestinian gunmen are using civilian houses:

But he insisted. “We are fighting the Israelis,” he said. “When we fire we run, but they hit back so fast. We run into the houses to get away.” He continued smiling.

3. Palestinian combatants don't care about the Palestinian civilians:

“Why are you so happy?” this reporter asked. “Look around you.”

A girl who looked about 18 screamed as a surgeon removed shrapnel from her leg. An elderly man was soaked in blood. A baby a few weeks old and slightly wounded looked around helplessly. A man lay with parts of his brain coming out. His family wailed at his side.

“Don’t you see that these people are hurting?” the militant was asked.

“But I am from the people, too,” he said, his smile incandescent. “They lost their loved ones as martyrs. They should be happy. I want to be a martyr, too.”

Not much concern there - you'ld think that Europeans would be protesting the Hamas (who, by the way, started this conflict by firing rockets into Israel), but I guess Europeans will always be Europeans.

Israel finally had enough...

After enduring the perpetual attacks from the Palestinians Israel has finally decided to fight back. Air raids were launched against Gaza, resulting in over 200 palestinians (mostly Hamas members) dead and many hundreds more wounded. Hamas fired Qassam rockets into Israeli territory as an immediate reply, BBC states, but it's not so much a reply to the Israeli actions since these very same rocket attacks are what brought on the Israeli strikes. The arab world is pissed and the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon is deeply alarmed. Needless to say, anytime the arab tyrants pretend to care about the innocent lives lost, while calling the suicide bombers martyrs, not to mention oppressing their own citizens, Israel is in the right. The United Nations is not much better in their objectivity. Just in the last conflict between Israel and Lebanon which was initiated by the Lebanese*, the UN begged Israel not to finish off the Hezbollah by promising to prevent them from rearming if Israel would immediately cease its operations. Ofcourse, as soon as Israel complied, the UN has reneged on that promise. UN's claims claims of objectivy mean absolutely nothing and their promises should be disregarded.

Israel needs to stick this one out, not believe any promises that would delegate their security to any international organizations and completely demolish the Hamas. Otherwise, after a year of relative quiet it will all repeat itself.
 
* Yes, the Lebanese. I refuse to put that one solely on Hezbollah as Lebanon is still a sovereign country, hence their refusal to deploy troops on their border and their  allowance for the Hezbollah to operate freely and attack from the Lebanese land makes them resposnible.

Massacre in India

Indian commandoes fought Thursday to wrest control of two luxury hotels and a Jewish center from suspected Muslim militants, a day after a chain of attacks across Mumbai left at least 119 people dead and the city shellshocked.

Gunfire and explosions were heard throughout the day and night from the besieged headquarters of the ultra-orthodox Jewish outreach group Chabad Lubavitch and the Taj Mahal and Oberoi hotels, two of the top gathering spots for the Mumbai elite. Throughout the day, commandoes brought hostages, trapped guests and corpses out of the hotels in small groups while fires erupted periodically and firefighters battled the flames.

State officials said 119 people had died and 288 were injured.

This and other similar terrorist attacks could've ended up with a lot less innocent casualties if the governments would allow their citizens to own and carry weapons. There's absolutely no reason why so few should be able to kill and hold hostage so many. The law that was intended to protect the lawful has aided those who are not.

Useful idiots

When I was still a member of what is probably best termed the British Jihadi Network - a series of British Muslim terrorist groups linked by a single ideology - I remember how we used to laugh in celebration whenever people on TV proclaimed that the sole cause for Islamic acts of terror like 9/11, the Madrid bombings and 7/7 was Western foreign policy.

Above is from an article by an ex Jihadi. Pretty much confirms what we on the right were saying all along. If this was about our/UK's foreign policy then why would France be on high alert when the french have opposed us at every step?

In his rejection to Oliver Stone's offer to make a biopic on Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the president's media advisor, Mehdi Kalhor, does not spin a thing, he makes it lucidly clear - I sent a negative answer by Ahmadinejad to Oliver Stone, It is right that this person is considered part of the opposition in the U.S., but opposition in the U.S. is a part of the Great Satan.

Since I mentioned the group in the last post... Go to their website - The Council on American-Islamic Relations. Mouse over "Challenging Hate" in their left navigation tool bar and click on "Not in The Name of Islam Campaign". Heh. Yea.

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — The man accused of striking nine people when he drove a vehicle on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill last year has apologized in a letter sent to the court.

In the letter dated May 20 and sent to Orange County Superior Court, Mohammed Taheri-azar said he is “very sorry for the crimes which I committed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on March 3, 2006. I sincerely regret what I did on that day. Please release me from state custody so that I may pursue my goal of living a productive life in California.”

Taheri-Azar, 23, said he hopes to work for his father’s general contracting company in Anaheim, California, and “re-establish myself as a good, caring and productive member of society.”

In the letter, Taheri-Azar also apologizes for his actions March 5 of this year in the courtroom, when he said he hated all Americans and Jews and called his attorney a moron.

Yea, whatever, dude. Here are some previous articles from last year regarding this guy A man who admits that he intentionally plowed into nine people on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus last week told authorities he was disappointed that more people were not around when he carried out the attack.. And "Allah gives permission in the Koran for the followers of Allah to attack those who have raged war against them, with the expectation of eternal paradise in case of martyrdom," Mohammed Taheri-azar wrote in a two-page letter sent to a TV station in Durham.. Hmm. That would come as a shock to CAIR!

"to the very Last One"

Sheik Ahmad Bahr, acting Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, declared during a Friday sermon at a Sudan mosque that America and Israel will be annihilated and called upon Allah to kill Jews and Americans "to the very Last One". Following are excerpts from the sermon that took place last month, courtesy of MEMRI.

Ahmad Bahr began: "You will be victorious" on the face of this planet. You are the masters of the world on the face of this planet. Yes, [the Koran says that] "you will be victorious," but only "if you are believers." Allah willing, "you will be victorious," while America and Israel will be annihilated. I guarantee you that the power of belief and faith is greater than the power of America and Israel. They are cowards, who are eager for life, while we are eager for death for the sake of Allah. That is why America's nose was rubbed in the mud in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Somalia, and everywhere.

Hey, that's great! Let's stop sending them aid and money, let them live off their power of belief and faith. Oh, and their hate. This is laughable, they want us dead and we are feeding and clothing them. Anyway, next time there are headlines about dead Palestinians, I'll make sure not to grieve too hard. Them being eager for death and all.

And meanwhile, this:

Diplomats from European countries, led by Norway, have begun to meet regularly with representatives of the terrorist organization. Switzerland and China also have announced that they will now deal with Hamas.

Even Western writers have be gun to discuss this new Hamas which is "ready for peace." Robert Novak's "Olive Branch From Hamas," an April 16 Washington Post column, is one example.
